Project RWB Hollywood 2.0 | Part 1 Custom Interior
Back in July we received delivery of a very special car. RWB or Rauh Welt Begriff has been on of my all time favorite must have cars. Well here she is. Car looked amazing as it came off the truck but when I first got into it, I knew there was a lot that could be improved.
And so the project begins…
After our first visual inspection we noticed that oil was leaking from everywhere, as most old air cooled 964 Porsches do. We quickly ripped the motor out so we could re-build it. While the motor was out the first order of business was to rip apart the whole interior and start from scratch.
Our end goal was a Singer meets RWB JDM vehicle. We ripped out the original carpeting and cleaned up the old wiring. We then sprayed the entire floor board with quiet coat to help with sound deadening. We used second skin sound deadening on top of the coating for even more sound proofing as we knew we were going to make the motor as loud as possible.
As you can see we installed a plus red carpet with custom rear seat delete. We added red leather to the lower dash over Rennline parts. Finally, we got some Recaro’s and re-upholstered the centers with a custom basket weave imprinted leather. A CAE shifter rounded out the interior finalizing our singer-esque look. Definitely the nicest RWB interior we’ve seen.
Even though it doesn’t seem like much we had over 150 hours in this interior alone. Every bracket and body panel was either powder coated or covered in leather.
Find out next week about the motor build!
